Full-text deadline extension

We are looking forward to receiving your contributions!

ECIL team

ECIL 2021 will be an online event

We are staying committed to organize the 7th European Conference on Information Literacy (ECIL 2021) this year as previously planned (20-23 September 2021)! However, looking at how the COVID pandemic and vaccination prognosis are developing, after careful deliberation the organizing team has concluded that ECIL 2021 will be held as an online event. We are very sorry that we will not be able to meet in the lovely town of Bamberg for ECIL this year, but it remains a possible destination for one of the future ECIL conferences.

The process of making these decisions caused a delay in our current plans and deadlines. We wish to inform you that all of your contributions are still safely archived in the conference management system and your previous user accounts remain active. The results of review will be visible again after the new cycle of abstract submissions is received and reviewed. (Contact us at ecil.ffzg@gmail.com if you are experiencing any technical issues.)

We invite those authors who want to submit a new abstract to do so until the 25th of January. The conference management system is now open and ready for your submissions. More information about the online presentation format of each contribution type and technical requirements will be published at a later date.

If you wish to withdraw your submission please let us know as soon as possible by withdrawing your contribution from the system at: https://www.conftool.com/ecil2021/

All important dates are visible here: https://ecil2021.ilconf.org/important-dates/

Even though only virtually, we very much look forward to meeting you all in 2021!

Kind regards,

ECIL 2021 Board

Welcome to the ECIL 2021 Website

The European Conference on Information Literacy (ECIL) is organized by the Department of Information Management of Hacettepe University, Department of Information and Communication Sciences of Zagreb University and the Information Literacy Association.

The seventh ECIL conference will be co-organized and hosted by University of Bamberg from 20-23 September 2021, in Bamberg, Germany.

The 7th ECIL was originally planned to be held in 2020. However, it had to be postponed to 2021 due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the possible risks to the health and safety of the participants.

Those abstracts which have already been accepted in 2020, will be included automatically in the Book of Abstracts and the Conference Programme of ECIL 2021, unless they are withdrawn. The peer-review for full-texts will start after the second run of abstract submissions is completed in 2021.
